Star Time is a high energy Afrobeat jazz ensemble which arose from the ever growing jazz and African music scenes in Te-Whanganui-A-Tara
Led by the charismatic Rwandan-born vocalist Francois Judah, and backed by a massive 8-piece band, they deliver a sonically unforgettable experience in the form of traditional Afrobeat dance rhythms, and spontaneous live arrangements which have set audiences on fire since their formation in 2024.
Star Time has continuously honed in on their signature fusion of afrobeat, dance music and jazz in a way that highlights their undeniably contagious energy as a group. Releasing their debut album ‘WE ARE HERE’ in 2026, this body of work boldly cemented their sound, rooted in the homage to African rhythms and blaring live arrangements.
