1What is the age restriction?
This party is R20. Bring your valid photo ID (NZ Driver Licence, Passport, or Kiwi Access Card) to get in.
2Where is Matakanarama held?
Just one hour north of Auckland, tucked away in the lush green hills of coast of Matakana, Rodney. It's our little slice of paradise – and now it’s yours too (for the weekend anyway)!
3Is there parking on-site?
Yep! There's plenty of free parking – but make sure to carpool if you can. Good for the planet, great for making road trip memories.
4Can I camp?
Absolutely! Camping is all part of the experience. We’ve got a beautiful, private spot waiting for you – bring your tent, your mates, and your best festival spirit.
5Are there free water points throughout the festival?
There are multiple free water stations situated throughout the site and they are marked on the final festival site map which is released in the week leading into the event. We encourage everyone to bring your own water bottle.
6Is the camping family-friendly?
This one’s for the grown-ups – 20+ only. So bring your inner child, but leave the little ones at home.
7Can I bring my own food and drinks?
You're welcome to bring food, but we do not permit gas cookers, camping cookers or bbqs due to fire risk. We are a non-BYO festival and any alcoholic drinks will be confiscated sorry!
8Can I cook on festival grounds?
Strict ban on gas cookers and open flames, your mum can pack your lunch :) multiple amazing food vendors available onsite.
9Are there showers and loos?
We’ve got toilets and hot showers dotted across the camping area because we believe in festival fun and hygiene. You deserve both.
10Is there cell phone coverage?
Site has coverage – but everyone that you are want to contact are going to be there anyway.
11Can I bring my dog/cat/ferret?
We love animals, but this festival is just for humans. Leave your furry friends in safe hands and come party freely.
Ticket Details & Refunds – Just in Case
1What happens if I lose my ticket?
All tickets are provided digitally, just double check your inbox before coming to the event.
2Are tickets transferable?
Yes! But only if they are updated through the official Humanitix platform before the event.
3Are tickets refundable due to event cancellation?
You’ll get 100% of your ticket price back (excluding booking fees). Use your Humanitix confirmation email’s “Manage Order” link or hit “Contact Host” to request. No refunds within 7 days of the event or if you forget your ticket/ID. Or if your ticket gets confiscated. Be prepared!
4Are tickets refundable due to change of mind?
Get 60% back if you cancel at least 7 days before the fun starts (again, booking fees not included). Use your Humanitix confirmation email’s “Manage Order” link or hit “Contact Host” to request. No refunds within 7 days of the event or if you forget your ticket/ID.
Camping Rules & Chill Times
1Does the ticket price include camping?
Sure does! All tickets include camping for the night(s) covered by your ticket.
2When do I have to leave Matakanarama?
As sad as we are to say goodbye - you'll need to depart by 1pm the following day depending on ticket you purchased.
3Where am I able to camp?
Only camp in designated areas, and please, pretty please – take your tent and rubbish with you. Leave no trace 💚
4What type of food packaging can we bring?
Everything apart from glass!
Licensed Bars
1Will there be a licensed bar?
We’ve got fully licensed bars on-site, open to all 18+ festival-goers.
Make sure you bring photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, or Kiwi Access card) if you want to buy alcohol.
Our team cares about everyone having a good time safely — we may refuse service if someone’s had a bit too much.
All the usual NZ alcohol laws apply, so please drink responsibly.
Behaviour = Vibes
1What's not acceptable?
We’re all about respect. No harassment, discrimination, violence, or unsafe behaviour. You’ll be asked to leave (no refunds) if you kill the vibe. Follow the legends wearing hi-vis – that’s our amazing crew, medics, and security.
What NOT to Bring

Absolutely not allowed: Illegal stuff. Weapons. Fireworks or flares. Flames of any kind. All things glass. Controlled items (confiscated if non-compliant)
Medic Tent
1Will there be a medic tent onsite?
Our medics are on-site 24/7. If you need help, don’t hesitate. By being here, you consent to receive care if needed – you’re in safe hands.
Lets talk liability
1What's some things I need to consider?
You party at your own risk. We’re not responsible for injuries, theft, lost property, or changes to the schedule.
2Will I be photographed?
By attending, you acknowledge that you might be in photographs and videos taken by our media team which may be used for future promotions.
3Weather
We go ahead no matter what the weather gods throw at us. Refunds only happen if the whole festival is cancelled (which we really don’t plan on).
4Be a Lawful Legend
All NZ laws apply. Break them, and you might get removed – or meet the local cops.
5Security Checks – Safety First
You’ll be screened on the way in – this may include bag searches, alcohol checks, metal detectors, or a quick pat-down. Refusing checks means no entry or being asked to leave. It’s all to keep you safe and the festival flowing smoothly.
